Many stargazers in the Greater New Orleans area were hoping to get a glimpse of a rare sight in the sky.
But a rainy and cloudy night covered up the view of a supermoon combined with a lunar eclipse.
It is the first time in 30 years that the eclipse has taken place.
This video of the rare treat was taken Sunday night in Baton Rouge by photojournalist Dave McNamara.
There have only been five supermoon eclipses since 1900. The next one is not expected until 2033.
