NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

New Orleans Inspector General Ed Quatrevaux publicly released a letter he wrote to the City of New Orleans, recommending the firing of Independent Police Monitor Susan Hutson.

In a statement released Tuesday morning, Quatrevaux said he did not initially release last week's letter to the public because it was a personnel matter.

But he said since then, Hutson's attorney has commented publicly about it.

In the letter, Quatrevaux cited what he calls several examples of Hutson's inappropriate conduct, including refusal to comply with a federal judge, unethical and unprofessional conduct, and failures to obey the law.

He concluded by writing that Hutson fails to relate effectively to the police department and other agencies, particularly the federal court overseeing the NOPD consent decree.

FOX 8 reached to both Quatrevaux and Hutson for comment. As of the time this article was published, calls have not been returned.
