NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Former St. Tammany and Washington parish district attorney Walter Reed and his son head to federal court in New Orleans on Thursday for a status conference in their corruption case.
The former DA faces 18 charges of wire fraud, money laundering and mail fraud.
Prosecutors charged Walter Reed with misspending at least $100,000 of campaign money on personal expenses.
His son, Steven, also faces federal charges.
Walter Reed will also argue Thursday to have half of the charges in his indictment thrown out.
The investigation into Reed is due in part to Lee Zurick's Louisiana Purchased investigative series with Nola.com/The Times Picayune.
