NOPD: Man beaten, robbed by two women in French Quarter

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

New Orleans Police are searching for two black women wanted for beating and robbing a man in the French Quarter. The incident occurred Saturday around 6:30 a.m. in the 800 block of Burgundy Street.

Police say that the 51-year-old victim was approached by the two women, who began talking to him. Shortly thereafter, one of the women punched the man, knocking him to the ground. Both women went through the victim's pockets, taking his wallet and cell phone. The women then drove off in a dark-colored Ford SUV.

The man suffered moderate injuries as a result of the incident. A surveillance video of the incident was captured by a nearby ProjectNOLA camera.

If you have any information that could help police with this case, you are asked to call NOPD Eighth District detective Iain Watt at 504-658-6080 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
