NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

New Orleans police arrested an 18-year-old and a juvenile in connection with the investigation into high-profile armed robberies at Uptown bars and restaurants. The 18-year-old has been identified as John Guillory.

According to police, the pair was arrested Wednesday night following an overnight raid at a New Orleans East apartment. Police said leads from the investigations of three Uptown robberies lead investigators to the Hidden Lake Apartments, where they spotted Guillory driving a stolen car. Guillory was booked with one count of possession of a stolen vehicle. Police did not disclose the charge against the juvenile in the arrest.

The pair has not been charged for the armed robberies, nor are they considered suspects, at this time, police say, but that hasn’t stopped some employees of Monkey Hill Bar, the most recent robbery victim, from breathing a sigh of relief.

“I'm glad that something is being done, they're after these guys for real and us having to go through that is not in vain, they're gonna catch these guys, with probably stuff that was seen and touched in there,” Maggie Myhand, who works at Monkey Hill Bar, said.

Myhand noted the amount of money offered as a reward may help police nab the people responsible. Crimestoppers is offering a $30,000 reward for information that could lead to an arrest.

“I think a friendship will probably be broken over that much money,” Myhand said.

Myhand said while the robbery was a scary situation for people working and visiting the bar at the time, she thinks it hasn’t scared customers away from the Magazine Street bar.

“It's actually been pretty good for business, I'm getting to see a lot of people I haven't seen in a while, because they're coming in to say, ‘I'm glad to see you're still around, we're glad nothing happened,’” Myhand said.

Police have not connected the three robberies at Patois Restaurant, Atchafalaya, and Monkey Hill Bar, though they bare striking similarities.
