THIBODAUX, LA (WVUE) -

A Thibodaux man is facing his third DWI as well drug possession charges after police found him asleep at the wheel.  41 year old Ryan Kraemer was spotted in his truck at a stop sign on Tupelo Street last Friday evening around 5:30 pm.  Someone reported the incident to police, complaining that the 2002 Chevrolet Silverado was partially blocking the roadway on Hickory..

When police arrived on the scene, Thibodaux Police say they found Kraemer sleeping behind the steering wheel, with the truck still running.  Police Chief Bryan Zerinque says when officers made contact, Kraemer appeared intoxicated.  Police conducted a standardized field sobriety test, which they say Kraemer performed poorly.  He was then placed under arrest.

Through further investigation, officers say they located heroin and hypodermic needles on Kraemer. Kraemer reportedly refused to blow into the intoxilyzer machine, so a warrant was obtained for a sample of his blood. The sample will be submitted to the State Police Crime Lab to determine Kraemer’s level of intoxication.

Kraemer has been booked with third offense DWI, Possession of Heroin, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He is being held at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on a $36,000 bond.
