GUADALUPE RIVER, TX (WVUE) -

A 10-year-old girl bagged a monstrous, 13' long alligator with just one shot from her crossbow, according to the Victoria Advocate newspaper.

Ella Hawk was with her mother and father at the Guadalupe River in Texas when they spotted the massive beast.

"I was more nervous than her before the shot," Tony Hawk, Ella's father, told the newspaper. "She has nerves of steel before the shot. She's just gifted like that, I guess."

Ella shot the gator above its eyes. She said the shot paralyzed and killed it.

"I've gone several years without even getting a 12-foot (alligator)," hunting guide Ryan Longer said. "I don't know how it happened or why it happened, and this is probably my pinnacle for the year."

Longer posted this image to Facebook on Sept. 27.

The 13' gator's size is ranked No. 1 by Trophy Game Records of the World.

Ella has been hunting for a few years now. In fact, she received the Trophy Game Records of the World Huntress of the Year award in 2014.
