KENNER, LA (WVUE) -

Taxi drivers keep the pressure on Jefferson Parish leaders over Uber drivers operating in the parish and especially at Louis Armstrong International Airport.

Wednesday, they protested outside the parish council meeting being held in Kenner.

Cabbies say UberX drivers are illegally picking up fares in Jefferson Parish and especially at the airport even though the parish issued a cease and desist order months ago.

They are calling for the parish to take steps to keep the Uber app from operating in the parish.

The parish has even cited some Uber drivers, and today the parish is seeking a temporary restraining order.

The head of the taxi drivers' union plans to address the council sometime on Wednesday.
