BATON ROUGE, LA (WVUE) -

The shift in game venues means a business owners in Baton Rouge are working against the clock to prepare for the home game atmosphere.

As LSU works to prepare Death Valley for the tiger's first away game at home against South Carolina, local businesses are scrambling to stock and staff up for the impromptu matchup.

The people at Bengals and Bandits say they are rushing to get merchandise on the shelves and making sure they will have people to work during the game.

At the ticket office, extra students showed up to take calls from season ticket holders and fans with questions about the game.

While the game will likely be a boon for businesses in the Red Stick, they say they will not forget what really matters this weekend.

"There's a store up in Columbia South Carolina that's just like me, that's locally owned. And they may been cleaning the floors this week, dealing with insurance all week," said Erick Hedrick, owner of Bengals and Bandits. "Maybe their house was impacted, so when I lay my head on the pillow Saturday I want to feel good about what I've done. So we're going to allocate some sort of percentage from our sales that day to a family owned store like ours up in Columbia."

The spirit of why this game is happening here is clearly not lost on the people of Baton Rouge. It is one reason why the Tiger faithful will undoubtedly support Gamecock nation this weekend.
