NOPD: Man wanted for threatening woman with gun

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

New Orleans police are searching for a man wanted for pulling out a gun on a woman and threatening to shoot her. The incident occurred Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the 4900 block of Bonita Drive. 

Police say that the suspect, identified as 20-year-old Michael Ruffin, got into an argument with the victim. During the confrontation, Ruffin pulled out a silver handgun and pointed it at the victim. Ruffin began to threaten the victim with the gun while having his finger on the trigger.

The victim ran out of the house, while Ruffin chased her continuing to point the gun at her. The victim called police and as officers responded to the scene, Ruffin fled the scene. 

Detectives found a .40 caliber handgun on the scene. The victim was able to identify the gun recovered as the one used by Ruffin. Police obtained an arrest warrant for Ruffin for aggravated assault with a firearm.
