3 accused of confronting couple in Gentilly skate park, stealing car

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

New Orleans police are searching for three males who they say stole a car during an armed robbery in Gentilly. The incident occurred Monday around 10 p.m. near the intersection of Paris Avenue and Pleasure streets. 

Police say the suspects walked up to a man and woman who were sitting inside the nearby skate park. One of the men took a set of keys that was sitting next to the woman on the steps. As the male victim went to confront the men, one of the suspects pulled up his shirt revealing a pistol in his waistband. The suspects took that keys and stole the victim's 2005 Honda Civic with a Louisiana license plate reading VNG 531.

The first suspect is described to be in his early 20's, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9, weighing 130 pounds. He has a slim build and was last seen wearing an upside down black visor, a red crew neck t-shirt with white lettering an a black graphic on the front, several bracelets, white shorts and white crew socks. He was armed with a handgun, according to police. 

The second suspect is described to be between 20-23 years of age, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-7, weighing 150-170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a navy blue faded crew neck t-shirt with unknown white lettering on the front, blue jean shorts, white socks and flip flops. 

The third suspect is described to be between 20-25 years of age, 5-foot-11 to 6-foot tall, weighing around 180 pounds. He was last seen driving in a grey Jeep Liberty. He was believed to have been driving the getaway car.
