NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

As the New Orleans Saints get ready for their first Thursday night home game of the season, tailgaters are pulling out their black and gold, getting ready to turn downtown into the "Who Dat Nation."

If you plan on being at the Superdome, you will want to give yourself some extra time for security checks.

For those fans who may not know, there will be metal detectors at every entrance, and staff members are going to be enforcing the NFL's clear bag policy.

Bags are restricted to one clear vinyl or plastic bag, no larger than 12 x 12 x 6 inches per person, and one small clutch purse no larger than 6-and-a-half x 4-and-a-half inches. You are allowed to have both bags, or one or the other.

Before the game, fans can meet Saints Hall of Famer Sammy Knight for free.  He will be shaking hands and giving autographs at the Saints Hall of Fame Museum from 5:25 p.m. until 6:40 p.m.

The museum opens at 4:30 p.m. It is located at Gate B on the Plaza level. It is going to stay open for 45 minutes after the game. Admission is free for all ticket holders.
