WESTWEGO, LA (WVUE) -

Westwego police are investigating the murder 15-year-old boy.

Officers say 15-year-old Kevin Thomas, a student at Higgins High School, was shot in the back after an argument at the Tanglewood Apartment complex in the 1000 block of Sycamore Drive.

According to police, the 15-year-old was outside with three or four other people around 12:15 a.m. on Oct. 19 when gunshots broke out. Investigators say the 15-year-old appeared to be running from the scene when he was shot several times in the back. He managed to make it home, where he pronounced dead.

The shooting is still under investigation. No arrests have been made.

They are asking anyone with information to call the police department at 504-341-5428 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
