6 Month Update on Smoke-Free New Orleans

New Orleans city leaders will gather in front of City Hall to mark six months since a city-wide smoking ban took effect.  Local businesses and health experts will join them to give a progress report on the smoking ban in bars and casinos. The announcement takes place at 11 a.m.

Darren Sharper co-defendants to appear for court hearing

Two men charged along with former Saints player Darren Sharper will appear in Federal Court today. Erik Nunez and Brandon Licciardi both have status conference hearings at 3 p.m. Both men have pleaded not guilty to federal charges linked to the assaults of three women in New Orleans in 2013 and 2014. Nunez and Licciardi are set to go to trial in October. Sharper's sentencing date has not been set. He's expected to spend about nine years in prison.
