Deputies: Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

LAFOURCHE PARISH, LA (WVUE) - Agents with the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle headed northbound on LA Highway 308 in Mathews on Oct. 22.

The driver was identified as 30-year-old Ashley Danos. Deputies say she had three outstanding warrants and immediately took her into custody. With the assistance of a K-9 deputy, agents searched Danos' vehicle and discovered suspected narcotics, including methamphetamine, marijuana, amphetamine pills, alprazolam pills, hydrocodone pills, various drug paraphernalia and $700 in cash.

Deputies took Danos to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux where she was booked with possession with the intent to distribute narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also booked on six active warrants for contempt of court, a probation/parole violation warrant, and as a fugitive of Terrebonne Parish where she is wanted on other drug charges.

Her bond was set at $128,000 for the charges in Lafourche Parish. She is being held for Terrebonne Parish and Louisiana Probation and Parole. Danos was also ordered to pay fines and costs related to one of her contempt charges.
