Large crowds turn out to participate in Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Thousands of people laced up their sneakers and put on some pink for a very important cause. The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure began bright and early at New Orleans City Park.

FOX 8 is a proud sponsor of this year's race and organizers say the race gets bigger every year. So far this year, the race has raised more than $190,000.

The money stays in New Orleans to help fight breast cancer.
