NOPD: Woman wanted for kidnapping her niece, nephew

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - New Orleans police are searching for a woman wanted for kidnapping her niece and nephew. Fanchand White, 30, was last seen Sunday around 11 a.m. leaving her hotel room in the 2400 block of Tulane Avenue, with her 11-year-old nephew Lafred Clinton and eight-year-old niece Iyanah Jones.

According to police, detectives learned that White was involved in a dispute with her sister about living in hotels with the two children. White asked to take the two children to get something to eat and never returned. Police also learned that White took all of her belongings out of the hotel room in addition to blocking her sister's phone number. White left in an unknown taxi cab, heading to an unknown location. Detectives believe that she may be traveling to Woodville, Texas. Police have tried to reach White but have been unsuccessful.

White is described as 5-foot-6, with a medium build.

Lafred Clinton was last seen wearing a red shirt, khaki pants and red shoes.

Iyanah Jones was last seen wearing a blue tank top, blue jacket, blue jeans and pink and blue shoes.
