NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The NOPD is asking for the public's help in locating a woman and her niece and nephew after the woman took the children from a Tulane Avenue motel.
Fanchand White, 30; her 11-year-old nephew, Lafred Clinton; and 8-year-old niece, Iyanah Jones, were last seen Oct. 25 at around 11 a.m., leaving the motel in the 2400 block of Tulane Avenue.
Detectives said White was having problems with her sister living in hotels with the two children. White asked to take the children out to get something to eat and never returned with the children. White had also removed all of her belongings from the hotel and blocked her sister's phone number.
White left the hotel with the children in a taxi cab. Investigators think she intends to travel to Woodville, Texas.
Police attempts to contact White have been unsuccessful.
Police said no Amber Alert was issued because the children are not thought to be in danger.
The First District Investigative Unit is in charge of the investigation and can be reached at 658-6010.
Anyone with information that can help locate White and the missing children should contact the New Orleans Police Department at 821-2222 or the nearest Law Enforcement Agency.
