SLIDESHOW: Louisiana's drunkest cities

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - At the saying goes, it's 5 o'clock somewhere. Somewhere is apparently New Orleans.

The website RoadSnacks ranked the drunkest cities in Louisiana. The Crescent City ended up in the top spot.

How does someone measure how much a city drinks? RoadSnacks used this criteria:

  • Number of bars and pubs per capita
  • Number of wineries per capita
  • Number of liquor stores per capita
  • Each city’s drunk related tweets within the last week
  • Each city’s divorce rate

According to the website, studies indicate that when at least one person in a marriage is an alcoholic, the couple is three times more likely to get a divorce.

For tweets, RoadSnacks looked for posts containing #Drunk, #Party, #Beer, #Wine and #Cocktails.

It's important to note that majority of people in Louisiana do not drink or enjoy drinks in moderation. Remember to be responsible.

Other cities in the metro area to crack the top 10: Covington, Gretna, Mandeville and Slidell.

The home of LSU, Baton Rouge, came in at 5.
