NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The state issued emergency suspensions for five French Quarter bars on Tuesday, ordering them to stop selling alcohol and tobacco following a month-long investigation into prostitution, illegal drugs and lewd acts.

The sting was called "Operation Trick or Treat."

"Louisiana Alcohol and Tobacco Control is keeping a close eye on what's going on in the French Quarter," ATC Commissioner Troy Hebert said. "This kind of illegal activity poses concern for public safety and will not be tolerated."

The state received a tip from the New Orleans Police Department's 8th District after more than a dozen complaints were issued against several businesses in the area.

During the course of the investigation, agents discovered that much of the alleged illegal activities occurred at adult entertainment venues on Bourbon Street.

The following businesses were issued emergency suspensions:

Centerfolds Fais Deaux Deaux – Five counts of prostitution, three counts of illegal drugs, two counts of lewd/improper acts

Lipstixx/Fais Deaux Deaux – Three counts of prostitution, three counts of illegal drugs, three counts of lewd/improper acts

The Mansion on Bourbon – Six counts of prostitution, two counts of illegal drugs, five counts of lewd/improper acts

Chez Joey – Three counts of prostitution, five counts of illegal drugs, two counts of lewd/improper acts

Dixie Divas – Four counts of prostitution, three counts of illegal drugs, one count of lewd/improper acts

Administrative hearings to address the violations against the above businesses will be held in the coming weeks.
