NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The NOPD arrested a 30-year-old woman in connection with kidnapping her young niece and nephew from a Tulane Avenue motel.

Fanchand White was booked with two counts of simple kidnapping and other outstanding warrants.

Police say on Saturday, October 25, 2015, White asked her sister if she could take the kids to get something to eat. White removed all of her belongings from the motel room in the 2400 block of Tulane Avenue, blocked her sister's cell phone number and never returned.

Detectives say White was upset her sister was living with her kids in motels.

Police say White secretly returned the children on Tuesday and on Wednesday morning was arrested in the 200 block of North Johnson Street.
