Police arrest 15-year-old for multiple Algiers car burglaries

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - New Orleans police arrested a 15-year-old boy for multiple car burglaries in Algiers.

According to police, around 8 p.m. Monday, officers pulled a vehicle over in the 3600 block of MacArthur Boulevard for not having a visible license plate. When officers approached the car and made contact with the driver, they immediately recognized the driver as the alleged perpetrator in multiple car burglaries in the area. Officers also found several items taken in the burglaries inside the vehicle. The teen was taken into custody.

Investigators believe that he is responsible for five burglaries that took place in the 3400 block of Garden Oaks Drive. Police say that he may also responsible for car break-ins that occurred from October 21, 2015 through October 25, 2015 on Carriage Lane and Westpark Court. A second male teen is also believed to have been involved in the incidents, police say.

Based on their investigation, detectives arrested the teen and charged him with seven counts of auto burglary.
