UPDATE: Houma shooting leaves 1 dead, 3 injured

HOUMA, LA (WVUE) - Houma Police are investigating a shooting incident that left one person dead and three others injured. The incident occurred Wednesday at 4:15 p.m. in the 400 block of Morgan Street.

According to police, officers responded to a call of shots fired. When they arrived on scene, they found a man suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was brought to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The deceased victim has been identified as 18-year-old Corey Butler.

Police say that three other men were shot as a result of the incident. Investigators learned that the men met on Morgan Street where a fight took place and guns were drawn. A 19-year-old man was shot in the shoulder, a 24-year-old was shot multiple times and a 25-year-old was shot in the face. Another man was able to escape without injury, according to police.
