NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

Looking for something to do Sunday? The Aquarium of the Americas is hosting Louisiana Appreciation Day.

On November 1, 2015 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. anyone who shows valid proof of Louisiana residency will be allowed to get in for free.

The Audubon Nature Institute says, "visitors to the Aquarium are immersed in an underwater world, surrounded by exotic sea creatures in the 4,200 square-foot Great Maya Reef, enchanted by penguins and awestruck by the gigantic sharks, tarpon, and rays in the 400,000-gallon Gulf of Mexico Exhibit."

The complimentary admission does not apply to the Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium, Audubon Zoo or the Entergy Giant Screen Theater.

Audubon Aquarium is located at 1 Canal Street in New Orleans.
