BATON ROUGE, LA (WVUE) -

The state pardon board today, denied clemency for Michael Ondek, who was convicted nearly 30 years ago, for one of Mandeville’s only murders of 1987.

The board voted five to zero against clemency after 18 friends and family members of victim Keith Mackey turned out against granting Ondek freedom.

Ondek claimed he shot mackey out of road rage, while Mackey was driving his tow truck near the Greenleaves Subdivision.

He could be eligible for another clemency hearing in five years.
