Fournier leads Magic past winless Pelicans, 103-94

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - -

Evan Fournier capped a 30-point performance with a pair of 3-pointers in the final 1:13 and the Orlando Magic won for the first time this season, 103-94 over the winless New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night.

Nikola Vucevic added 22 points and Victor Oladipo 12 for the Magic, who, like the Pelicans, entered the contest at 0-3.

Eric Gordon had 21 points for New Orleans, which trimmed an 18-point, first-half deficit to 95-90 with 2:46 to go. Then Fournier helped Orlando put it away.

Anthony Davis, Jrue Holiday and Ryan Anderson each scored 14 for the injury-plagued Pelicans, who've given up more than 100 points in all four losses under new coach Alvin Gentry. New Orleans also shot poorly, hitting just 36.6 percent (32 of 90) of its shots.

De La Salle doesn't own a state title in football YET. But after watching the Cavs beat Class 4A heavyweight Karr, I'm convinced this squad has their best shot to win the crown in 2017. Quarterback Julian Gums is one of the best in the state. If he wears down, running back Kendall Collins can take over. Collins racked up three touchdowns against a very strong Karr defense. 1) John Curtis The Patriots absolutely thrashed Parkview Baptist 66-28 in Baton Rouge. October 27th can't get h...more>>

The Saints are bringing back a familiar face to help boost their pass rush. A league source confirms to FOX 8 sports the team has signed Darryl Tapp. Tapp spent the entire training camp and preseason but was cut before the season began. Last season with the Saints, he finished with 0.5 sacks and 12 tackles. Through two weeks the Saints pass rush has not been effective. Coach Sean Payton said earlier in the week that the team must get better in this area. Copyright 2017 WVUE. Al...more>>
