SLIDELL, LA (WVUE) - A Halloween nightmare ends for an 86-year-old Slidell woman who thought she lost a very sentimental ring while giving out candy to treat-or-treaters.
Gloria Vinson and her family finally found her wedding ring Tuesday in her front yard, after four days of searching.
But, it was not just her relatives looking for the ring.
The Slidell police department took to Facebook Monday night to ask people in the area to keep an eye out.
That post got hundreds of likes and thousands of shares.
The ring is very sentimental to the 86-year-old because she first got it in 1970 as an engagement ring from her late husband who died in 2001.
Vinson says the ring slipped off in the first place because it does not quite fit. She had been wearing it on her pinky finger because of that reason.
Her family plans to get it sized this week until then it's staying in her jewelry box.
