Lockdown lifted after alleged threat reported at Madisonville Jr. High

MADISONVILLE, LA (WVUE) - A lockdown at Madisonville Jr. High was lifted after authorities deemed a threat to be unfounded.

The school was placed on lockdown Wednesday afternoon after a student reported an alleged threat, according to a spokesperson with St. Tammany Parish Schools.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's says a student reported that a gun was brought to the school. The entire school was searched with nothing being found.

A student was questioned about the incident. The school was voluntarily placed on lockdown out of an abundance of caution.
