Police in Thibodaux arrest a 21 year old man and recover more than $39,000 in high grade marijuana.  The suspect has been identified as Kaleb Bruce of Golden Meadow, LA.

Thibodaux Police Chief Bryan Zeringue says one of his officers witnessed Bruce, who was driving a red Chevrolet Silverado, swerve off the road on St. Patrick Street near North 7th Street and then quickly brake before activating a turn signal. Bruce was pulled over by police in a gas station parking lot. When Bruce opened the door, the officer says he detected a strong smell of marijuana.

Through further investigation, Zeringue says they recovered nearly 2000 grams of suspected high grade marijuana.  Police estimate the pot has a street value of more than $39,000.  Police also confiscated a digital scale which they say had marijuana residue on it.

Kaleb Bruce was arrested and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center. He's facing charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, improper lane usage and driving without a license.  He is also facing a warrant out of Terrebonne Parish on a telecommunication harassment charge.
