Missing Georgia teens found in Louisiana

ST. TAMMANY PARISH, LA (WVUE) - St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's deputies found four missing teens from Georgia in Slidell on Thursday.

The teens, a 17-year-old girl, a 15-year-old girl and two 16-year-old boys, left Georgia on Tuesday morning in a blue Jeep Patriot. Authorities in Georgia contacted the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office after a ping on one teen's cellphone led them to believe the group was in the Pearl River area.

Deputies were notified to be on the lookout for the Jeep Patriot with a Georgia license plate, and a deputy located the vehicle shortly after 10 a.m. It was parked behind a fast food restaurant less than a mile from the Sheriff's Office Complex on Brownswitch Road in Sidell.

The teens told the deputies they had traveled through several states, but started having vehicle trouble while driving through St. Tammany Parish. They had spent the last of their money to buy breakfast before the deputy found them.

The teens' parents are now on their way from Georgia to pick the teens up and bring them back home.
