(WVUE) - Crews on the scene with heavy equipment have removed an 18-wheeler from the Pearl River.
The truck is filled with 45-thousand pounds of paper products.
Investigators say it went into the water Tuesday night after Daniel Alex Coy, who was driving a black pickup truck, tried to pass another 18-wheeler on the right shoulder.
He is accused of hitting that 18-wheeler, which swerved into the truck driven by 26-year-old Steven Shawn Clark.
Clark's truck crashed through the guard rail and plunged into the Pearl River. Clark was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police caught up with Coy yesterday. He's awaiting extradition to Louisiana from Biloxi.
He faces charges of negligent homicide, reckless operation and felony hit and run.
