LAFOURCHE PARISH, LA (WVUE) -

Louisiana State Police say a three-vehicle crash just before 11 a.m. Saturday killed a Thibodaux resident.

Investigators say a 2005 International 18-wheeler was traveling north on the LA 20 in the Chackbay. They say for unknown reasons, the truck crossed the center line and entered the southbound lane.

At the same time, a 1998 International 18-wheeler was traveling south. The two trucks sideswiped as the first crossed the center line.  The 2005 International continued to travel into the southbound lane and struck a 2008 Hyundai Sante Fe head-on, that was traveling south behind the 1998 International.

State police say the Sante Fe was driven by Kristi Marse, 44, of Thibodaux. The Lafourche Parish Coroner’s office says she died at the scene.

The drivers of the trucks were not hurt.

Investigators say the drivers of the trucks both submitted to a breath test and were cleared of any alcohol involvement.

The crash remains under investigation.
