Car stolen at gunpoint in front of NOMA

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

The New Orleans Police Department reports a pair of carjackings in different part of New Orleans Tuesday night.

In the first incident, on Lelong Drive, leading to the New Orleans Museum of Art, a 49-year-old man was entering his vehicle when two men in a black Altima pulled up beside him. The passenger got out armed with a gun.

The victim handed over his car keys and the perpetrator fled in his vehicle.

Police describe the suspects as two black men.

In the second incident, a 56-year-old woman was in her car in the 7600 block of Shaw Avenue when a man tapped on her window with a gun.

The woman grabbed the barrel of the gun to distract the suspect and ran away. Three men sped from the scene in her car.

Police describe the suspects as three black men.
