Runoff election draws more early voters than primary

(WVUE) -

Early voting numbers for the Nov. 21 general election are already higher than the October primary.

The Louisiana Secretary of State's office tells FOX 8 that as of the close of business Tuesday, 119,000 people had cast their ballots ahead of time, compared to 116,000 last month.

Louisiana voters will elect a new governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state and attorney general. Several local and parish offices will also be decided.

Early voting ends Saturday, Nov. 14. Click here for a list of locations and times. You can take a look at a sample ballot, by clicking here.
