TORONTO (AP) - Jonas Valanciunas had 20 points and 10 rebounds, DeMar DeRozan added 15 points and 11 assists and the Toronto Raptors pulled away in the second half for a 100-81 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night.
After trailing by nine points during the first half, the Raptors turned a 40-40 halftime tie into a rout against the banged-up Pelicans - New Orleans was without five regulars.
Five Raptors scored in double-figures, including Kyle Lowry with 20 points. Toronto begins a five-game road trip Sunday night at Sacramento and plays 11 of its first 15 games of the season on the road.
Guards Eric Gordon and Jrue Holiday led New Orleans. Gordon had 30 points and Holiday added 19.
The Raptors hit just 2 of 10 3-point attempts in the first half, but made 7 of 11 from beyond the arc in the second half.
