Over 250,000 ballots cast in early Louisiana voting

BATON ROUGE, LA (WVUE) - The Louisiana Secretary of State's office says 257,000 people have voted early so far in the gubernatorial  runoff.

In Orleans parish a little more than 19,000 people have already voted. That number is a little higher in St. Tammany parish at 19,600.

In Jefferson Parish, nearly 16,500 early votes have been cast,

Election day is Saturday.

In addition to picking a new governor and lieutenant governor and a new attorney general, voters will decide  races for parish presidents, sheriffs and council members.
