NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

A man that the New Orleans Police Department has named as a person of interest in a series of Uptown restaurant armed robberies has turned himself in to authorities. Dwayne "Butter" Winins turned himself in around 11 a.m. Monday, one day after being named as a person of interest. Police say that he may have important information pertaining to the incidents.

According to police, Winins was also wanted for his role in the murder of 30-year-old Harold Martin. Detectives have already arrested Rolandus Campbell and Wesley Davis for the May 11 incident which took place in the 2500 block of Mendez. Investigators believe Winins helped Davis hide after the shooting. Winins will be questioned and booked in Central Lockup on once count of accessory to second degree murder.

If you have any information that could help police with either of these cases, you are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
