NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - A strong cold front is triggering a line of heavy storms that will arrive over the metro area before midnight. There is some potential for severe weather with winds gusting to 50+, however, the main threat appears to be heavy downpours that will cause some street flooding that could make the morning drive a slow one.
There is a sharp temperature drop of 15-20+ degrees behind the front so sweaters and jackets will be needed on Wednesday. Skies will be clearing after the noon hour allowing temps to climb back into the 60s.
