NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The suspect in last year's Christmas Eve shooting in Oakwood Mall will be in court today following a sanity evaluation.
A status hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. in Jefferson Parish Gary Francois. Attorneys are expected to discuss the findings of the examination performed on Francois.
Francois' attorney, Miles Swanson, may change his plea to 'not guilty by reason of insanity, depending on the findings.'
Francois is charged with second degree murder in the shooting death of 24-year-old James Vaughn.
