SLIDELL, LA (WVUE) - On Thursday morning, Salmen High School administrators met with parents of seven girls who were kicked off the girls' basketball team.
Parents said they were told that a decision about reinstating the players will be made after the holidays.
According to NOLA.com | The Times-Picyaune, the girls were kicked off the squad after missing Tuesday's game. That came one day after four parents met with Salmen's principal to discuss some girls' concerns about the conduct of first-year Coach Panos Bountovinas. At least one girl claimed he was too "feely."
In a statement, Superintendent Trey Folse said:
"A thorough investigation by the St. Tammany Parish Public school system has found that allegations brought up in regards to the Salmen high girls basketball coach are unfounded."
