NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - New Orleans police are asking for the public's help in identifying and finding three people wanted for possession of stolen property in a Nov. 20 incident in Gert Town.

NOPD said members of the Traffic Division were conducting a DWI checkpoint when they stopped a 2014 black Ford Explorer occupied by three males at the corner of Dublin and Dixon streets. They said the driver of the vehicle claimed he didn't have any identification and gave officers the vehicle's registration. The driver was asked to step out of the SUV but refused and instead sped off.

Detectives discovered that the SUV was reported stolen Nov. 9 from Allard and Dumaine streets.

Anyone with information is asked to call Third District detectives at (504) 658-6030 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
