KENNER, LA (WVUE) -

Kenner Police are getting additional funding to help officers crackdown on drunk drivers and seat belt violators.

The Louisiana Highway Safety Commission issued a $35,000 grant to the department. Kenner Police said the money will be used to help pay for overtime incurred by officers conducting the increased patrols.

The grant will cover increased enforcement by the department through September of 2016.
