(WVUE) - Blue Bell ice cream will return to store shelves in Louisiana just in time for the Christmas.
The company says it will start delivering its products on Dec. 21, to Louisiana and Jackson, MS (including its surrounding areas).
The announcement is the fourth phase in the Blue Bell's plan to return markets in its distribution area.
"Our customers have shown great patience over the past several months and we cannot thank them enough," said Ricky Dickson, vice president of sales and marketing for Blue Bell.
Blue Bell stopped production and voluntarily recalled all products in April after its ice cream was linked to 10 listeria cases, including three deaths in Kansas.
Blue Bell is only producing five flavors of ice cream right now in the half gallon and pint sizes. The flavors include: Buttered Pecan, Cookies 'n Cream, Dutch Chocolate, Homemade Vanilla and The Great Divide. 12-pak Homemade Vanilla Cups and 12-pak Homemade Vanilla and Dutch Chocolate Cups are also available in stores.
Blue Bell also says it will bring back 115 of its employees who were put on paid furlough earlier this year. That brings the total number of its employees company-wide to approximately 1,000 company-wide.
