ATC goes after more strip clubs for drugs, prostitution

(WVUE) - The Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control on Tuesday announced that more strip clubs have been cited for drugs and prostitution.

The 14 additional adult entertainment venues were cited as part of the agency's statewide undercover operation named "Operation Trick or Treat." Six of the businesses were issued emergency suspensions due to what the ATC called a "threat to public safety."  The following strip clubs were ordered to stop selling alcohol and/or tobacco products immediately:

Shelly's – Houma

Temptations – Sulphur

Club Vixen – Lake Charles

Club Cabaret – West Lake

Judy's Lounge – Morgan City

The statewide operation comes weeks after nine clubs were cited in the French Quarter.

"ATC has two words for strip clubs across the state; straighten up," said ATC Commissioner Troy Hebert in a news release. "It's simple. If you allow drugs and prostitution, your alcohol permit will be in jeopardy."
