GRETNA, LA (WVUE) - The man accused of stabbing his parents at their Gretna home after a fight over food was arrested in Mississippi by the Lamar County Sheriff's Department.
Police arrested 32-year-old Ronald Pritchett at a home off of Chandler Road in Purvis, Miss. around 3 a.m.
Police arrested him with the use of a K9.
Pritchett was slightly injured during his arrest. He waived extradition and will be brought back to Jefferson Parish where he is wanted for the murder of his father and the stabbing of his mother.
According to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's office, Pritchett was visiting his parents home at 841 Bellemeade Boulevard in unincorporated Gretna when an altercation over food occurred.
Pritchett is accused of killing his father, 58-year-old Percival Pritchett, and stabbing his mother, 57-year-old Renta Pritchett around 7:20 p.m. Wednesday.
Renta Pritchett was transported to University Hospital. Police say her injuries are not life-threatening.
Ronald Pritchett is expected to be released from Mississippi on Monday. He will be brought back to Jefferson Parish and booked with one count each of second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder and auto theft.
