Teen arrested; caught on video robbing cab driver in New Orleans east

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

The NOPD says officers have arrested a 14-year-old boy, caught on surveillance video robbing a cab driver at gunpoint in New Orleans East.

According to the NOPD, the armed teenager got into the back of the victim's cab at the intersection of Chef Menteur Highway and East Adams Street, around 2:45 p.m. Saturday.

The teen then pulled out a gun and demanded the cab driver's money. He complied and the teen made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The NOPD says officers arrested the 14-year-old Monday evening, and booked him on one count of armed robbery. The department did not release the boy's name since he is a minor.
