NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The Bayou Classic hit its biggest record since Hurricane Katrina.
Saturday's attendance at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome was 62,907 to see Southern University take on Grambling State.
It's the largest crowd since returning home after the storm. Hurricane Katrina forced the game to Houston in 2005.
This is also the fourth consecutive year of increased attendance. The second highest post-Katrina attendance was 59, 874 at the 2008 classic.
Grambling State defeated Southern University with a final score of 34 - 23.
