NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The McDonald's restaurant near the intersection of North Broad Street and St. Bernard Avenue was fired upon by an unknown gunman early Tuesday morning.
At approximately 5 a.m., an man walked up to the front doors of the business and attempted to open them and enter.
The doors of the business were locked and the suspect produced a gun and began firing, striking the glass portion of the doors. After the glass shattered, the suspect fled on foot.
Employees inside the restaurant at the time the shots were fired did not suffer injuries in the incident.
Detectives are investigating to determine if this incident is related to any of the recent similar incidents or other crimes.
A McDonald's restaurant on Jefferson Highway was damaged by gunfire earlier Tuesday morning. The Academy Sports in the 800 block of South Clearview Parkway was also damaged by gunfire the same morning.
There is no word on whether authorities believe the incidents are related.
