French Quarter bank robbed

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The FBI is searching for a man who robbed Regions Bank in the French Quarter.

The robbery happened Tuesday at 1:35 at 541 Chartres Street.

Agents say the suspect entered the bank and handed the teller a demand note.  He got away with an undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late 30s to early 40s, approximately 5' 10" to 6" feet tall with a slim to medium build.

He was wearing a dark-colored baseball hat, possibly bearing a Miami Heat insignia, dark-colored sweatshirt, dark jeans and wire-rimmed glasses.

The FBI believes the same suspect also robbed the Liberty Bank at 6600 Franklin Avenue on Oct. 22.

The Metropolitan Orleans Bank Security Association is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment.
