NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

An inmate in the Orleans Parish Prison and a jail employee were arrested Tuesday after it was discovered the inmate had left the jail and returned.

The inmate, Wilbert Robinson, was charged with seven counts of simple escape. Robinson is currently in the custody of the Louisiana Department of Corrections.

The jail employee, Gregory Jacques, was charged with seven counts of being a principal to simple escape, and one count of malfeasance in office.
